Leeds honour Stewart
  On Thursday 20th September at Leeds Civic Hall, Patrick will receive an honorary degree from Leeds Metropolitan University for his work in theatre, film and television.

'King of Texas' set for June 2002 premiere
  Patrick's recently completed adaptation of Shakespeare's King Lear, titled King of Texas, will premiere on US television in June 2002 on the TNT network.

On the Huddersfield Town football club take over front, it looks like Stewart's still keen to join the consortium if all goes well - have the latest on the story.

'Johnson' just the start for Stewart's theatre plans
  With the opening of 'Johnson Over Jordan' at West Yorkshire Playhouse now only 4 weeks away, recent press coverage reveals that this will indeed be the first of many theatre roles Patrick is planning to appear in over the next few years.

The choice of this little known J.B. Priestley play marks the start of a Priestley season at WYP which also includes Priestley - The Politics of Reputation on Friday 14 - Sunday 16 September

The weekend will bring together JB's son Tom Priestley, Stewart, Jude Kelly, Roy Hattersley and others to discuss and examine the man and his work.

Picard's star turn at Blackpool show 
  Fans at the recent 'Voyager The Return' convention at Norbreck Castle in Blackpool were treated to a surprise 'guest appearance' by Patrick on the Sunday. 

He dispelled any recent net rumours that Picard would die in the next Star Trek film - due to begin filming in October - and also talked of a film appearance by fellow Trek captain Kate Mulgrew "very soon". and Empireonline both covered this story, whilst 
BBC Lancashire have more general details of the convention as do organisers Wolf Events who have exclusive photos on their web site.

Other news round-up 
  Always keen to promote learning and reading amongst school and college students, Patrick was on hand recently to open the new library and resource centre at Garforth Community College in Leeds.

Patrick will also be helping raise money for charity at this year's Galaxy Ball on 10 November at the Sheration Universal Hotel in Los Angeles.

The director of Star Trek X will be Stuart Baird whose recent films have included the high action films 'US Marshals' and 'Executive Decision' .

Talking of Trek the upcoming issue of  'Star Trek: The Magazine' due out in the US on 4 September has an interview with Stewart talking about his current and future plans,  working with Gene Roddenberry, and Trek's 35 year anniversary.
